Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Galaxy Grand 2 (SM-G7102) in India. It was launched earlier this year running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 got the KitKat update in January, Galaxy S4 got it in February and the Galaxy Note 2 got the update back in May in India.
The KitKat update adds wireless printing, support for emojis, minor UI changes and under the hood improvements such as white status bar icons, lockscreen Camera shortcut, Samsung Wallet and KNOX, full screen music album art in the lockscreen, improved user interface and performance improvements.
The Android 4.4.2 update for the Galaxy Grand 2 (SM-G7102) is 360.90MB and is available in India only over-the-air (OTA). Internal documents that got leaked recently revealed that the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 would get the KitKat update in June, but Samsung started rolling out the update for Mega 6.3 earlier than expected starting from Russia in May. Hope we can expect the Android 4.4 update for Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 in India soon.
