Xolo Play 8X-1000 with HIVE UI launching in the first week of August

Xolo started teasing about their Hive UI last month. Today the company has announced on their Facebook page that it would launch a new smartphone called 8X-1000 with HIVE UI in the first the first week of August, when answering queries about the HIVE UI. Xolo launched the Play 6X-1000 with Hexa-Core MediaTek MT6591 Soc. The 8X-1000 would be the first smartphone to feature its HIVE UI, but it would be ported to other Xolo devices in future, says the company.

The HIVE UI based on Android KitKat, would come with new drop-down quick settings screen with circular controls to adjust brightness, controlling volume levels and setting the screen timeout instead of straight-line bar slider. This screen would also have easy control switches to switch between either SIM cards for calls or messages. It also has a new lockscreen that looks like blinds of a curtain that has notification icons for missed calls, message and email. The same notifications would be displayed on a transparent widget on the home screen.

HIVE has Media Centre with last.fm integration for recommendations based on the music you are listening and YouTube integration for accessing songs by trending artists easily. It also has Dolby DTS with equalizer. Other HIVE features include, new Contacts Book that lets you access all the conversations with a contact in a single thread. It also pulls profile images from Facebook. The HIVE UI also has custom themes to change the look completely and customizable app drawer. You can know more about HIVE on Xolo website here.

According to earlier rumors the Xolo Play 8X-1000 would feature a 5 inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by an octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. We just have to wait for one more week to find out more details about the smartphone.
