Google is rolling out an update to Play Movies and  TV app  for Android with Material Design UI. This means, the app will get larger images and bright colors that makes the UI colorful and attractive.

Secondly, the app gets support of second screen functionality when streaming TV shows and movies to a Chromecast or Nexus Player-connected TV. The updated app will show actor and soundtrack cards on your phone or tablet while you are watching, so you can have extra information about what is playing. It must be noted that not all Google Play content supports this feature. Only movies and episodes marked with an Info Cards badge on the Google Play store will work.

Finally,Google also updated their “Watch Now” tab to make “the experience of finding a movie as pleasant as watching the movie itself”. Users will now see more recommendations and even trailers, right inside the app. The new version of the app will roll out over the next week. Amazon offers similar feature to Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Prime Instant.
