Asus unveiled the Zenfone series of smartphone earlier this year at the CES and launched them in India few months back. Now the Taiwanese manufacturer has launched the Zenfone 5 Lite (A502CG), a cheaper variant of the Zenfone 5 in Philippines. This has a 5-inch qHD screen with Soda-lime glass screen protection and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 SoC, compared to the 5-inch HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, but has the same design as the Zenfone 5.
It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box and has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash similar to the Zenfone 5, but this has a VGA front-facing camera instead of 2-megapixel front-facing camera on the Zenfone 5. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot, dual SIM support, 3G HSPA+ connectivity and packs a 2500mAh battery.
