Xolo launched the Omega 5.0 smartphone with HIVE UI for Rs. 8,999 yesterday. We already brought you the unboxing and benchmarks of the smartphone, here we have our first hands-on impressions and the photo gallery.
The Omega 5.0 has a 5-inch HD display. The display looks good, but it is glossy and is prone to fingerprints. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Xolo’s own HIVE UI on top. Xolo has promised to update all the HIVE UI smartphone to Android 5.0 (Lollipop) in future. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592M processor.
The Omega 5.0 has curved design. There is a 2-megapixel fixed-focus front-facing camera. There are the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors next to the camera.
It has capacitive touch buttons below the display that offer haptic feedback when pressed, but these are not backlit.
It has metal rim running on the sides. The power/lock button is present on the right side under the metal rim.
The volume rockers are present on the left side.
There is a micro USB slot and a 3.5mm audio jack on the top. There is nothing on the bottom.
It has a glossy removable back cover that is not impressive and is prone to fingerprints.
There is a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony Exmor R sensor and 1080p video recording.
It has two micro SIM slots and a microSD card slot under the back cover.
