The move is expected to boost Twitter’s international business and mobile marketing strategy in India and other similar markets. Founded in 2010, ZipDial offers a unique marketing solution where consumers can give missed calls to a number to engage with an advertising brand. The Bangalore based startup was founded by Valerie Wagoner, Amiya Pathak, and Sanjay Swamy.

ZipDial has already worked with Twitter to offer tweets from celebrities to non Twitter users via SMS. The report says that the ZipDial acquisition has already been done by Twitter and will be announced as early as this week. This will be Twitter’s first Indian acquisition. In 2013, Facebook had acquired Indian start-up Little Eye Labs.
