SwiftKey has updated its iPhone app with support for three new languages along with an addition of a new feature called Tap Map and usage statistics.
SwiftKey is getting support for Arabic, Hebrew and Farsi languages. In February, the app received a major update with support for additional 11 languages including Bulgarian, Turkish, Croatian, Greek, Hinglish, Icelandic, Indonesian, Latvian, Russian, Serbian and Slovak. Any of these can be downloaded via the ‘Languages’ section in the app, and enabled by long-pressing the spacebar to switch between two languages at a time if you’re a multilingual typer. SwiftKey also got a separate emoji keyboard and gesture typing feature Flow.
The latest update also adds Tap Map feature that is similar to the heatmap on SwiftKey on Android. It show SwiftKey uses artificial intelligence to adjust the keys on your keyboard ‘behind the scenes’ to better fit your typing style. For example, if you typically hit the right half of the F key when you’re aiming for G, the shape of G on your Tap Map will probably be larger and skewed to the left. Finally, the update offers users typing stats and personal Tap Map that are present under ‘Personalize’ in your SwiftKey Settings menu.
Typing stats give users facts and figures about how much they have typed, how far they have flowed, and how many words have been corrected and predicted so far using SwiftKey. The info in both your Tap Map and your typing stats is based on data that the app has been recording since you downloaded SwiftKey.
