Apple officially announced its first wearable smartwatch in September last year and it went live in stores on April 24. We have already seen Apple Watch Hands On and the Unboxing, now lets take a look at Apple Watch Sport in the photo gallery.
The Apple Watch Sport is the base model and carries a price tag of $349 for the 38mm version. It has a 1.32 inch touch screen with pixel density of 290 PPI. The glass on top of the watch utilizes sapphire crystal that makes it scratch proof and the display is protected by strengthened Ion-X glass that makes it 30% lighter than the stainless steel model.The screen activates whenever you lift your wrist. It is made from lightweight anodized aluminum in silver and space gray.
The Apple Watch uses a combination of a digital crown and a hardware button for all interface interaction and this can get quite complicated very quickly. Pressing the digital crown brings you to the app drawer while rotating the crown lets you zoom in.
Over at the back you can see the heart rate sensor which involves infrared light as well as visible-light LEDs to provide accurate heart rate measurement during workouts. It comes with built in gyroscope. The Apple Watch band is adjustable and interchangeable with other watch band options. It is available in white, blue, green, pink, and black color option.
It has Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC for Apple Pay. It is also water resistant.
The Watch band is made from fluoroelastomer and has pin-and-tuck way to wear and remove it.
The watch measures 38.6 x 33.3 x 10.5mm and weighs 25g for the 38mm variant and has a battery life of up to 18 hours.
Apple Watch comes in three variants Sport, Steel and Watch Edition. The Stainless Steel option starts at $549 for the 38mm model or $599 for the 42mm variant, with price ranging up to $1,049 and $1,099 depending on its band material. The Apple Watch Edition is the most expensive model and comes in 8 variants and goes up to US$ 17,000 for 18-karat yellow or rose gold case version.
