Facebook has revealed financial results for Q2, 2015. The social network has recorded $4.04 billion revenues beating analyst expectations of $3.99 billion revenues.
Facebook now has 1.49 billion monthly active users as of June 30, 2015 reporting a 13% year over year increase. Daily active users reached 968 million, a 17 percent gain over the previous year, but less than the 19 percent it grew in the same period the year earlier. Mobile monthly users grew 4.8 percent to 1.31 billion from 1.25 billion and mobile daily users grew 5.76 percent to 844 million from 798 million. Daily active users hit 968 million, up 3.41 percent from 936 million.
Net income shrank to $719 million from $791 million a year earlier, while the operating margin, a measure of profitability, narrowed to 31 percent from 48 percent. Mobile now makes up a huge 76 percent of advertising revenue, up from 73 percent last quarter. Facebook also revealed that WhatsApp has 800 million users, Messenger has 700 million users while Instagram has 300 million users.
