Samsung introduces new USB 3.0 compact flash drives with a metallic design

Samsung has announced three new USB 3.0 Flash Drives (UFD) with Samsung NAND flash technology. These are available in three form factors –  Regular bar type, FIT and DUO and have a high quality metal casing for added durability, and a streamlined ergonomic design making it easy to grip and use. These offer sequential read speed of up to 130MB/s and sequential write speed of up to 45MB/s.

These are rugged and have 5-proof durability against water, shock, temperature, magnets, and X-Rays.The Bar type flash drive comes in light champagne color offering a modern classy look and has a larger key ring hole that can prevent it from being lost. It is 40mm long, weights just 8.6 grams and is specifically designed for use in PCs.

Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive FIT

The Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive FIT is the company’s most compact flash drive, which is less than 20mm long and weighs just 2.2 grams. The Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive DUO is less than 37mm long, weighs less than 6 grams and comes with a convenient attached cap that protects the micro USB. It is specifically designed for smartphones, tablets and PCs, offering an all-in-one experience with both standard and micro USB ports.

The standard Bar type Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities and are priced at US$ 17.99 (Rs. 1,175 approx.), US$ 24.99 (Rs. 1,630 approx.) and US$ 49.99 (Rs. 3,270 approx.), respectively. The Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive FIT comes in 32GB and 64GB capacities that are priced at US$ 29.99 (Rs. 1,960 approx.) and US$ 49.99 (Rs. 3,270 approx.), respectively. The Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive DUO comes in 32GB and 64GB capacities, but there are currently there are no details about the pricing. These new USB 3.0 flash drives will be available across 50 countries globally, including in Korea, the United States, China, Europe and other regions. These will be also available in 128GB capacity in each form factor later this year, said Samsung.
