Skype for Android update brings custom ringtones and other features


Skype has updated its Android app with a couple of important features. The latest update that bumps the app to version 5.10 brings custom ringtones.

Skype 5.6 for Android

Users will now be able to assign custom ringtones for incoming calls to specific users. Ringtones can be selected from those that are present on your device. In order to set custom ringtone tap the lower right and select “Ringtone options” in a conversation and then “Set custom ringtone”. Skype will detect music files on your device as options for setting a ringtone.

Moving on, the update also adds the ability to let you share photos from chats with other Skype friends who may not be in the conversation. In order to share the photo simply tap and hold on the photo you want to share and select “Forward photo” to desired contact you want to share it with. Skype has also included number of bug fixes and improvements in this update. Skype for Android was last updated in July with refreshed look.
