Sony introduced its new compact NW-A25HN Walkman with Hi-Res digital noise canceling features at the IFA earlier this week. We got to check out the new Walkman at the Sony booth, here is the photo gallery.
It has a 2.2-inch (320×240 pixels) QVGA TFT color LCD display and control buttons below the display. It has Hi-Res audio and Sony’s proprietary DSEE technology to upscale compressed audio files to High-Resolution Audio. It has ClearAudio+, Clear Bass, Clear Phase, Dynamic Normalizer and 5 band Equalizer.
There is a micro USB port on the bottom. It promises up to 30 hours of battery life for Hi-Res Audio playback and up to 50 hours for MP3 playback. It can play FLAC, ALAC, MP3, AAC, HE-AAC, WMA, Linear PCM and AIFF files.
There is a microSD card slot, HOLD button and volume rockers on the right side. It measures 43.9 x 108.9 x 8.8mm and weighs just 66 grams.
It also has NFC support for quick paring, apart from Bluetooth. The Sony NW-A25HN with 16GB storage comes in black, blue, pink, red and yellow colors and the Sony NW-A27HN 64GB storage version comes only in black color. Both these variants come with MDR-NW750N or MDR-NW750NE headphones in the box. Sony did not reveal the price or availability of the Walkman.
