WhatsApp Messenger has updated it’s iPhone app with the latest 3D ForceTouch support. The new feature will work on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The latest update bumps the app version to 2.12.9. Users can now quickly Peek and Pop pictures, videos, links, contact cards, and locations you send and receive in chats. In case with Peek you can lightly press on pictures, videos, links, contact cards, and locations to preview them while pressing harder (Pop) will open them. 3D Touch is one of the biggest feature that differentiates the new iPhone’s from the older ones. In addition, the update includes fixed issues with viewing media on older versions of iOS. Finally, WhatsApp UI can now be mirrored and optimized for right-to-left languages like Arabic (for iOS 9+), and other fixes and improvements.
The listing also mentions Starred messages feature from the previous version which allowed users to tap and hold on any message in a chat to star it, so it can be easily found later.
