Xiaomi recently scheduled an event on November 24th, to introduce a new product. Lin Bin, co-founder and President of Xiaomi already said that more than one product will launch at the event. He posted a teaser image of the Redmi Note 2 Pro smartphone in Golden color recently, few hours back he posted an image of a tablet on weibo, which is likely to be the upcoming MiPad 2. It appeared on Geekbench last week, revealing some specifications.
The teaser shows sleek curved design of the tablet, which is expected to have metal build. It shows camera on the back and a microphone hole. The power button and the volume rockers with metal finish are present on the right side. It is not clear if the tablet will have 4G LTE support or it will be WiFi-only like the first MiPad tablet.
According to earlier rumors, the MiPad 2 will sport the same 7.9-inch (2,048×1,536 pixels) display, pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, similar to the MiPad, but this is expected to be powered by a 2.24 GHz quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor and run on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with MIUI on top.
We should know all the details including the pricing at the launch next Tuesday.
