Qualcomm had announced the Snapdragon 820 processor earlier this year and it will be available to OEM in early 2016. The processor that was officially launched today in China has appeared on AnTuTu benchmark results.
The Snapdragon 820 managed to score an impressive 131,648 on AnTuTu which is probably the highest ranking seen on any of the current chips. Qualcomm showed off the performance of the processor on one of prototype demo phones which were equipped with the Snapdragon 820, 3GB of RAM, 64GB internal memory, QHD display, fingerprint sensor and 21MP rear camera.
Along with AnTuTu, Snapdragon 820 also showed powerful results for GeekBench as the device managed to score 2,320 points in the single core test and 5,396 points in the multi core test. As Snapdragon 820 uses new custom Kryo cores and the single-core performance result in Geekbench registered a 60% improvement over the Exynos 7420. The Qualcomm chip scores about 54,000 points in the 3D test, where as Kirin 950 only scores about 21,000.
In the year 2016, some of the flagships such as Samsung Galaxy S7, ZTE Nubia Z11 and others are expected to use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.
