Xiaomi announced Mi 5 and Mi 5 Pro at an event in China and at the MWC 2016 last month. Here we have the 64GB Mi 5 smartphone for an unboxing. We managed to get one from iBuygou for about Rs. 35,000 including shipping and import duty. Check out the video.

The Mi 5 has a 5.15-inch 1080p display with 600 nits brightness. It is powered by a 2.15GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU and has 3GB of RAM. Running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 7 on top, it has a fingerprint sensor below the display and a 4MP front-facing camera with 2um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.
It has a glass body and the Mi 5 Pro comes with a ceramic body. It has 64GB (UFS 2.0) of internal storage, comes with Dual SIM support, but lacks a microSD slot. It has a 16-megapixel camera on the back with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 4-axis OIS and it has 4K video recording. It also has an Infrared sensor on the top, is 7.25mm thick and weighs just 129 grams. It has 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE and NFC.
It packs a 3,000mAh built-in battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The smartphone is currently available only in China, but Hugo Barra, Vice President of Xiaomi Global, at the Redmi Note 3 launch event in India said that the smartphone will launch in India in April.
