Instagram adds Video Channels to the Explore tab

Introducing Video Channels in Explore

Instagram is improving its Explore tab by adding Video Channels for easier video discovery. The latest update bumps the app to version 7.20.

The Facebook owned photo sharing app has rolled out a personalized channel called “Videos You Might Like” that collects videos from Instagram’s global users to offer a seamless viewing experience. Moving on, the app also gets new “Featured” channels in the Explore grid. Instagram says that these featured videos connects you to posts about your interests from people you don’t yet follow.

Moreover, the Explore tabs gets better with you use and starts showing content with respect to your preferences and liking. In addition, if you see something you don’t like, you can tap “See Fewer Posts Like This” in the ‘…’ menu for a better Explore experience.

Instagram assured that the latest video channel feature will not change the way Explore tab works and it will remain just the same. Currently, the video channels are only available in the US on iOS and Android but Instagram said it is working on the global rollout of the feature.
