Motorola Moto X (2016) and new Droid smartphone with metal body surfaced earlier today. Today Lenovo has announced its Tech World 2016 event where it will unveil the next Moto X flagship smartphone along with its first consumer-ready Project Tango smartphone that was first announced at the CES earlier this year.
Lenovo said that the Motorola phone will dramatically change the way people think about and use their most personal devices – in a snap, hinting at the modular backplate that has been confirmed by Venture Beat. These backplates called Amps will fit in the 16 holes and a simple colored backplate will come free with two handsets Moto handsets codenamed Vector Thin and Vertex or Droid Turbo 3 and Droid Maxx 3 for Verizon.
Other modules such as stereo speakers, battery pack, camera grip with flash and optical zoom, pico projector and rugged cover with wide angle lens attachment will be sold separately. according to the leak. Both from Moto as well as third-party manufacturers will sell them. These are connected magnetically and the protruding camera lens will be flush when the Amps are attached.
