Xiaomi has scheduled an online UAV launch event on May 25th where it will release it’s first Drone. The drone is expected to have a camera capable of recording videos at 4K resolution at 30 fps. It is not clear if the Drone would have advanced features present in high-end drones from DJI or other makers.
Rumors about the company working on drones surfaced last year when it patented a technology for drones controlled using Mi Band and and gestures. There is also a companion smartphone app that was leaked a few days back. Xiaomi shared a teaser yesterday that showed a Bamboo-copter.
Even though earlier rumors said that this could be an affordable Drone priced at 999 Yuan (US$ 153 / Rs. 10,280), latest rumors say that it could be a high-end drone costing 3999 yuan (US$ 611 / Rs. 41,220 approx.). The online event starts at 7PM China time (4:30 PM IST) next Wednesday. We should get more details about the drone and more official teasers in a few days.
