Earlier this week, it was reported that Apple is working on its own version of Echo like voice home assistant. Now a new report from CNET is offering more details about specifications of the device.
As per the report, Amazon’s version of Echo will have a built-in camera and use facial recognition to detect users as they enter the room. As soon as it recognizes a user, the device will pull up music, lighting as per their likes and preferences. The voice-activated device will be powered through its virtual assistant, Siri. The report said that the hardware could be released by end of 2016 and will most likely be available in 2017.
Previous report had stated that Apple’s home assistant will allows users to take out day to days tasks like checking the weather, set an alarm, playing music, control smart home devices and so on. The device will be able to perform these activities as it will come equipped with a speaker and microphone. Google recently announced Google Home, which is similar to Amazon’s Echo.
