A new rumor has surfaced that suggests an entirely new color variant of the upcoming iPhone 7. Japan’s Macotakara, quoting sources from China’s supply chain has stated that Apple will go with a deep blue variant for iPhone 7 instead of the usual space grey.
The report says that rest of the color variants – silver, gold and rose gold will still be present on the iPhone 7. Apple plans to discontinue the “Space Grey” color, which was introduced with the iPhone 5s in 2013. Space Gray is one of the most popular selling color option for iPhone models and hence, the report about axing this color is difficult to digest.
Moving on, the report states that Apple will stick with the same LCD glass surface as the current iPhone. The iPhone 7 that is expected to be announced in September this year will sport a design similar to iPhone 6 and 6s with small tweaks. Just recently, analysts said that Apple might skip 16GB models for iPhone 7 and the base storage will start from 32GB. It is tipped to feature 3GB RAM dual cameras and come without a 3.5mm audio headphone jack.
