Xiaomi introduced the Redmi 3S smartphone in China last month. We managed to get one and unboxed it recently. Check out the video below.

The Redmi 3S has a 5-inch HD screen, is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC and packs 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on the variant. We have the 3GB RAM variant. Running on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) based on MIUI 7, which will be upgraded to MIUI 8 soon. It has a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
It also has a infrared sensor on the top.
It has a fingerprint sensor on the back and features full metal magnesium alloy unibody design which feels premium, similar to the Redmi Note 3.
It has hybrid SIM slot that lets you use the secondary nano SIM slot as a microSD slot when required.
It comes in 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage or 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage variants. It has 4G LTE support and packs a 4100mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S comes in Dark grey and Silver colors, in addition to Gold and is priced at 699 yuan (US$ 106 / Rs. 7120 approx.) for the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage version and the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version costs 899 yuan (US$ 136 / Rs. 9165 approx.). The company has not revealed when it will launch the phone in India.
