The Galaxy Note7 has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with curved edges on both the sides and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Powered by Octa-Core Exynos 8890 SoC, this runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own UI on top. It has a 5-megapixel camera on the front with f/1.7 aperture. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the home button.
Samsung has introduced Iris scanner for the first time that would let you unlock the phone using eye recognition.
It also comes with a new S Pen stylus with a smaller 0.7mm tip and improved pressure sensitivity. It has Screen off memo, Smart Select and new Air Command functions like Magnify and Translate to zoom in on the screen or convert languages with a simple hover.
Samsung has also moved to USB Type-C for the Note7. The phone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage. It also has a hybrid dual SIM slot, similar to the Galaxy S7 series that lets you use the second slot as a expandable memory card slot when required. This accepts microSD cards up to 256GB.
Even the back has glass finish. You can also see the Samsung and Duos branding on the back. It has a 12-megapixel Dual pixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS and also a heart rate sensor. It also comes in Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colors in India. We will bring you the benchmarks, camera samples and more soon.
