Earlier this month, a report said that the iPhone 8 will come in four colors, one of which will feature a mirror-like finish. Now a new report from Japan’s Macotakara says that it will come in different colors, but it will not come in White. It also says that it will not ship until Q4 2017, which is between October to December. It also says “initial sale period has a high possibility to be limited”.
Based on Taiwanese supplier information, it says that the Touch ID will not be present on the side of the phone since there is no hole there. Earlier rumors said Apple will replace the Touch ID fingerprint authentication in favor of a new 3D facial recognition technology.
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently revealed that Touch ID will also not be embedded under the display, will have highest screen-to-body ratio, Lightning Port will stay and Apple might add an “embedded USB-C power delivery”. The latest rumors corroborates earlier report saying that it will support 3D sensing for facial recognition and also shows the placement of sensors.
The iPhone 8 is expected to feature iris scanner, wireless charging and come with other major changes as it is Apple’s 10th Anniversary.
