Acer has announced the Chromebook 15 that has received an update in terms of specifications and build quality. The new Chromebook now features an aluminium top cover and palm rest.
It is also thinner and lighter than previous generations. The Chromebook 15 measures 378x256x18.9mm and weighs 1.72 kg. It sports a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) display and is powered by dual-core Intel Celeron and quad-core Pentium processors. Other specifications include 32GB or 64GB flash storage, 4GB or 8GB RAM. Connectivity options include USB 3.1 Type-C Port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2,two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, audio jack, and an SD card reader.
It has a fanless design and backlit keyboard. The front-facing HD webcam offers an 88-degree field of view. Also present are two upward-facing speakers with high-definition audio. Acer claims the battery life at 12 hours.
The Acer Chromebook 15 is priced starting at $399 and will be available in the US in October.
