Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 5A back in August this year. Now a new smartphone with codename MET7 has been listed on TENAA, which is expected to be Redmi Note 5. This shows the phone’s full-screen 18:9 display, unibody metal design, camera bump and a fingerprint sensor on the back. It doesn’t show dual rear cameras as rumored earlier, but there could be a Redmi Note 5 Pro or Plus version.
The certification site doesn’t reveal specifications of the phone, but it is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch FHD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display, powered by Snapdragon 630 with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 12-megapixel rear camera, 16-megapixel front camera and a 4000mAh battery. The top-end Redmi Note 5 Pro/Plus is said to come with a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
The Redmi Note 5 is seen in Champagne Gold and Black colors in the images, but there could be Rose Gold and Platinum Silver colors as well. The Redmi Note 5 series is expected to be announced sometime in mid-November, which is about a month away. The company is expected to send invites for the event later this month.
