Paytm today has launched the much-awaited Inbox chat feature on its app which besides from sending and receiving money, lets you chat with your friends and family. It is a full-fledged messaging application which allows you to share photos, and videos besides money.
The Inbox update will be added to Paytm main application at the bottom navigation bar both on Android and iOS. The interface is pretty basic with options like camera, gallery, send and receive money, and a location icon on the bottom. You just need to tap the ‘new message’ icon, and the app shows all your contacts who are using Paytm. The Inbox uses the phone number that you have linked to the main Paytm application.
The messaging experience is pretty basic, you can send single line message to your friends and can request/send money instantly then and there. Paytm Inbox also includes Notifications where you can see cashback offers available across categories and an Orders section that will let you view your orders and transaction updates.
Paytm Inbox also has ‘Recall’ feature which WhatsApp has recently got. Whether you have sent a wrong message to a person or in a group, Inbox lets you recall the message by using ‘Delete for All’ option, and unlike WhatsApp, there is no time limit for this to work. Unless both the parties are on the same Paytm app version, the messages or request won’t go through. You can Download the Paytm for Android from Google Play Store here. The feature will be available for iOS soon.
