Instagram is secretly testing a bunch of cool new features like a native Regram button, GIF search for stories and many that will find its way to the live version in the coming weeks, according to TheNextWeb who has exclusively obtained the information about these features that Instagram is currently working on.

The native Regram button is finally at work and might its way very soon. This is one of many features that users have been waiting for some time now. Regram lets you reshare a post be it a photo or video that someone who you might be following has shared. Currently, for resharing, users either have to save the image or video to their device and re-share it from their own account or use third-party apps.

Another feature at work is the new GiF Search for Stories which allows users to search for and add GIFs to their Stories or regular posts. Instagram seems to have been using Giphy to source GIFs in-app. Instagram has had Beta for Android for a long time, and now it is time for iOS, and the company is said to be inviting a select audience to test the new version of its Android app in a very limited beta.

Instagram’s upcoming feature will let you allow to save your Stories in a personal archive, and it seems that the test version may enable users to keep their Stories longer than 24 hours. Earlier this year, there were reports that Instagram is testing a favorite friends-type feature which lets you add your closest friends to a select group and you can share content with just them. Other features like share to WhatsApp, emoji, and hashtags quick search option, follow hashtag feature will be making its way to Instagram sometime shortly.
