Huawei’s Honor brand just introduced its flagship Honor 10 smartphone globally at an event in London. We got to check out the smartphone, here is our unboxing and first impressions of the smartphone.
Even though we have seen the Huawei P20 series with the notch, the Honor 10 is the first smartphone from Honor with a notch on the top. The phone packs a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and has 82.6% screen-to-body ratio, making it compact to hold. It is powered by Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 970 10nm SoC with i7 co-processor with 6GB RAM and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.1 on top.
The notch houses the earpiece, sensor and a 24-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI features for selfie portraits and AI-powered studio lighting effects. The 4-in-1 light-fusion technology promises sharp and focused pictures even in low light. It also has Face unlock. There is also an option to hide the notch, similar to the P20 series.
The phone has ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the bezel, below the display that is hardly visible when it’s off, and it works even with wet hands.
The phone has a metal frame. Power button and the volume rockers are present on the right side, and the dual SIM slot is present on the left side with dual 4G VoLTE. On the top there is a secondary microphone along with an infrared sensor. On the bottom there is a 3.5mm audio, USB Type-C Port and the loudspeaker grill along with the primary microphone. You can also see the antenna lines on the bottom. It has 128GB of internal storage but doesn’t have a microSD expansion slot.
The Phantom Blue and Phantom Green have a Aurora Glass Design that reflects vivid colors from every direction. It also comes in Midnight Black and Glacier Grey colors.
It has a 16MP (RGB) primary camera with LED flash, secondary 24MP (Monochrome) rear camera with f/1.8 aperture with Real-time Recognition of 500+ Scenarios in 22 Categories and Scene. The AI algorithm powered by Neural Processing Unit (NPU) instantaneously pairs subjects with optimal camera settings according to the context of the image.
It has a 3,400mAh battery with support for Honor SuperCharge fast charging technology that can charge the phone from 0 to 50% in 25 minutes. The Honor 10 will be available for pre-order in India starting from today midnight exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 32,999.
