OnePlus 5 and 5T OxygenOS beta update brings new features, improves battery on standby


OnePlus has released new beta updates (Beta 11 for the OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 9 for OnePlus 5T) for the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones that brings several new features including option to disable peek notifications for DND and reading mode, advanced battery optimization in standby, new features for OnePlus Switch app and ability for File manager to manage Parallel Apps files.

  • Added disable peek notifications option for Do Not Disturb(DND) preferences (Settings – Alert slider – Do not disturb)
  • Added disable peek notifications option in reading mode (Settings – Display – Reading mode)
  • Optimized PIN code confirmation process (Settings – Security & lock screen – Screen lock – PIN)
  • Optimized sleep standby power consumption (Settings – Battery – Battery optimization – Advanced optimization)

OnePlus Switch

  • UI improvements
  • Improved support for application data migration
  • General bug fixes and stability improvements

File Manager

  • Now able to manage Parallel Apps files

The update is about 157MB for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. If you’ve already flashed a previous Open Beta build, you will receive this update via OTA. If you haven’t, you will need to flash this manually by downloading it from downloads.oneplus.com.
