T-Mobile announced their new slider phone, T-Mobile Sidekick 4G. The phone is powered by Android and manufactured by Samsung. The phone features a 3.5 inch touch screen display with a “pop-tilt hinge”, which on sliding reveals a five-row QWERTY keyboard, which has been a standard feature on the Sidekick phones from the begining. The phone also comes with features like Group Text and Cloud Text to ensure users with exceptional messaging experience and built-in social networking apps such as Facebook and Twitter.
The Sidekick 4G is also equipped with a special feature called DriveSmart, a first-of-its kind service which provides automatic incoming call and message management, which sends customized notes to callers and senders, letting them know that the recipient is driving, without distracting the user.
Sidekick 4G runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and is powered by 1 GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor. Sidekick 4G is one of T-Mobile’s fastest smartphones, delivering download speeds upto 21 Mbps. The phone is expected to be available this spring running on T-Mobile’s 4G network.
