Wow ! Apple India just sent a press release confirming that the iPad 2 is indeed launching in India on April 29th. The iPad 2 has been facing unexpected demand ever since it’s US launch and it is sold out in most stores. The iPad 2 will be available in Japan on April 28.It will be available in Hong Kong, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, UAE and India on April 29.China will get the WiFi version on May 6th.
The base 16GB WiFi model of the iPad 2 will be available for Rs.29500 including taxes and the base 16GB WiFi+3G Model will be available for Rs.36900. It’s nice that the rumors were actually true. Are you going to buy the iPad 2 in India ?

iPad 2 Arrives in Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore & Eight Other Countries This Week
Wi-Fi Version Available in China on May 6
CUPERTINO, California—April 27, 2011—Apple® today announced that iPad® 2, the second-generation of its breakthrough post-PC device, will arrive in Japan on Thursday, April 28 and Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and eight additional countries on Friday, April 29. iPad 2 will be available at select Apple Authorized Resellers at 9 a.m. local time. Additionally, iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in China beginning Friday, May 6.

iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in Japan on April 28 and Hong Kong, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, UAE and India on April 29 for a suggested maximum retail price of Rs 29,500 (Inc Vat) for the 16GB model, Rs 34,500 (Inc VAT) for the 32GB model and Rs 39,500 (Inc VAT) for the 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for a maximum retail price of Rs 36,900 (Inc VAT) for the 16GB model, Rs 41,900 (Inc VAT) for the 32GB model and Rs 46,900 (Inc VAT) for the 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in China on May 6, and further international availability will be announced at a later date.
iMovie® and GarageBand® for iPad apps are available for $4.99 (US) each from the App Store℠ on iPad or www.itunes.com/appstore. The Smart Cover is available in a range of colors in vibrant polyurethane or rich leather for Rs 2,100 (Inc VAT) and Rs 3,800 (Inc VAT).
