Samsung releases Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 source code

Samsung has released the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) kernel source code for the international version of the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100), after a week it started rolling out the Android 4.0 ICS update for the Android smartphone. Samsung has released the source code even before the official Android 4.0 update hit each Galaxy S2 phone worldwide.

Samsung has sold 20 million Galaxy S2 smartphones globally as of last month, and it remains as one of the favorite smartphones among Android. Even though the source code is not useful for normal users, it is a great news for Android developers and tinkerers who would like to create custom software builds.

The Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) source code could be downloaded as a ZIP file from Samsung Open Source Release Center.
