Samsung Galaxy S III mini with a 4-inch display set for a German launch on October 11th

Samsung mobile communications head JK Shin has apparently confirmed to the Korean press that the 4-inch version of the Galaxy S III dubbed the Galaxy S III “mini” is all set to launch in Germany on October 11th.

This is great news for people who are looking for powerful smartphones, but with normally sized screens. I personally find 4 or maximum 4.3 inches to be the perfect size for smartphones, but the high-end has been all about bigger screen sizes and the trend does not seem to be changing soon.

The details and specs of the Galaxy S III mini were not revealed, but Shin assured reporters that it will have the “full form factor” (according to the translation) which we think, means it will have the same specs as the S III. That is excellent news, mainly because the S III has indeed some powerful innards and there are no chances of that spec-sheet reaching a device with (just) 4 inches of screen real estate.

The Galaxy S III mini, which is totally not considered an entry level device, will launch in Germany, on October 11th, directly admitting demand for the 4 inch form factor there.

Let’s hope that more manufacturers take this into account and make smaller, capable devices, for those who choose not to opt for bigger screens.
