Nokia launched the Nokia Music with Mix Radio for Lumia devices last year, now it’s available for select Asha touch devices, Nokia Asha 305, 308, 310 and 311 in India. The Mix Radio is a free music streaming service that allows consumers to discover new music and also create and listen to their own personalised mixes in the form of radio stations customized for different regions and genres, on Nokia Asha Smartphones.
The Nokia Asha already has Music Store with a collection of 8 million songs based on different languages and genres and the Mix Radio feature would let the consumers stream free music from a selection of more than 150 exclusive playlists, curated by musicologists and global artists. It has a collection of over 15 million tracks that can also be downloaded (up to four mixes) for offline listening.
The Nokia Asha family now has 13 devices, including the highly popular Asha Touch range. The Asha 310 is the latest full-touch phone based on the Series 40 OS with Swipe UI. The Nokia Music with Mix Radio comes pre-loaded on Nokia Asha 305, 308, 310 and 311 that are now shipping in India. It is free-to-use, but data charges apply. It is not sure if the existing Asha touch devices would get the feature through a firmware update.
