HTC announced the the Mini+ and Fetch Bluetooth accessories recently. Now the company has announced the BoomBass, a Bluetooth-enabled speaker / subwoofer with a dedicated amplifier. This provides clearer, more powerful bass when combined with the HTC One family’s BoomSound, says HTC. This offers enhanced audio even in lower range frequencies.
It is in the shape of a cube and offers a slide-out base that lets you easily place the device, making it as a stand. It has Bluetooth 3.0+EDR and pairs to select HTC devices over NFC. It has a 1200 mAh battery and is said to offer 9 hours of playback and can charge via a micro USB port. Sony launched the SRS-BTV5 Wireless speaker with NFC and Bluetooth in India back in April and we unboxed it recently. It had a built-in microphone to answer calls. It is not clear if the HTC BoomBass has a microphone.
The HTC BoomBass would be available from the HTC Accessory Store from mid October 2013. No details about the pricing yet.
