Vertu has launched yet another Android device in the luxury mobile phone segment. The phone is christened , ‘The Constellation’. It is a new entrant in the much popular constellation series. But no new name for the fresh device. Earlier this year, Vertu launched the Vertu Ti, its first android device, which we went hands on after the launch . Vertu was initially a majority property of Nokia, till it was sold to another company in 2012. Vertu was acquired in majority shares by European investment firm EQT.
The new constellation is rather simply designed with absolutely no bling. There is plenty of leather to make it look luxurious.
The android device comes in 5 modern shades – Cappuccino, Black, Orange, Mocha and Raspberry. The backside is wrapped in calf skin in the shades, mentioned. New Constellation’s screen is one of its biggest plus point. It’s a 4.3 inch touch screen protected by 5.1 inch sapphire glass and is put together in a titanium case.
The glass used is 100 carat sapphire crystal glass which promises to be very strong and scratch-proof. Screen resolution is 720p. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and can be upgraded to future versions of Android. and is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Some of these specifications are very similar to the Vertu Ti, launched earlier this year.
The new Constellation has a 13-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, 32 GB inbuilt storage for storing data and applications. There is a front-facing camera too with 1.3 MP strength. It also comes with 3G,Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with aptX, Secure NFC support.
As a Vertu legacy, each phone is handcrafted and that is what makes these luxury phones so expensive. Vertu has also added its signature concierge service. The new constellation will be available from October in select stores worldwide for 4,900 Euros.
