We already know that LG is working on a smartphone with a curved OLED display. LG already announced that they have already started mass producing 6-inch curved OLED smartphone displays which is vertically concave from top to bottom with a radius of 700mm. LG Chem also confirmed the existence of curved batteries. Now Engadget and CNET have posted press renders of the LG G Flex smartphone.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Round with a curved display last week which as a 5.7-inch Flexible AMOLED display. Looks like the market for curved screen smartphones are heating up, now companies have started releasing commercial products after several years of testing. We had seen Curved LED TVs from Samsung and LG earlier this year. Looks like we might see curved displays on several gadgets soon.
Complete specifications of the LG’s curved screen smartphone is not available yet, but it is likely to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor similar to the G2. The report says that that the phone would come out in November as rumored earlier.
