Fonearena is conducting one of a kind smartphone championship where you get to make your favorite smartphone win. This year we are conducting two championships – one for the flagships and one for the budget mid-range smartphones. Among the four interesting first round battles, we have the one between Sony Xperia C and Gionee Elife E6 right now.
Sony Xperia C and Gionee Elife E6 were announced in June and July respectively, but both the phones made it to the market only recently. Sony Xperia C was the company’s first MediaTek powered smartphone and came with optimal mid-range specifications. Gionee Elife E6 was announced was Gionee’s flagship as it came with top of the shelf specifications for a mid-range phablet.
Sony Xperia C comes with a 5inch qHD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor. There is 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot for expansion. There is a 8MP camera at the back and a VGA camera on the front. Sony Xperia C runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean out of the box and has Sony’s custom UI along with small apps feature.
Gionee Elife E6 comes with a relatively much better 5inch 1080p Full HD display and features a MediaTek 1.5GHz quad-core MT6589T processor. There is 2GB RAM and 32GB without any microSD card slot. Gionee Elife E6 runs on a heavily modified version of Android 4.2.2 with a superb UI which lags and is sluggish always. On the back, Gionee Elife E6 has a 13MP camera that can record 1080p videos and a 5MP front facing camera.
