Amazon introduces One Day delivery in India

Amazon has just recently opened their online showroom in India and are competing in a very crowded eCommerce market. In addition to having a wide portfolio of products, they also sell their own products like the Kindles and digital content including Kindle books. In the Indian eCommerce, where Free shipping and Cash On Delivery are taken for granted, Amazon is introducing one day delivery which is something new in the space.

Amazon

Amazon’s 1 Day delivery is not free and has a delivery charge of Rs. 99 per order. There is also a 2 day delivery option which costs you Rs. 79 per order. These unique and quick delivery options are sure to give Amazon an upper hand in the Indian eCommerce market.

Among the various terms and conditions, the most ones are that

  • 1 Day and 2 Day delivery options are available only for items that are fulfilled by Amazon and not by other sellers.
  • The products must be ordered within a time-frame
  • Large and heavy items do not qualify for this feature

If your items are not delivered within the 1 or 2 Day, the cost for the shipping will be fully refunded.

With this new faster delivery system, Amazon will seek to expand its footprint in the Indian eCommerce market where Flipkart is already dominating.
