At the MWC 2014 event in Barcelona, Nokia was rumored to be announcing a Nokia smartphone running on Android and they did not disappoint the rumor mill. Before announcing the Nokia X series of Android powered Nokia smartphones, Nokia announced the entry range feature phone – Nokia 220.
Nokia 220 is the Finnish company’s latest affordable phone with Internet connectivity and as most feature phones these days, it also comes in a dual SIM variant, the Nokia 220 Dual SIM. Nokia 220 has a 2.4-inch (320 x 240 pixel) LCD screen and also has a T9 keypad. There is a 2-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera. In terms of connectivity, there is 2G support, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, FM Radio, Flashlight and a 1100 mAh battery. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot. On the software front, it has Nokia Xpress Browser and integrated Microsoft Bing search. It comes pre-loaded with Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo Messenger and has 6 preloaded Gameloft games.
The Nokia 220 and Nokia 220 Dual SIM comes in a range of colors including Red, Black, White, Yellow and Cyan colors and from the show floor, we were able to get our hands on with a red device. You can check out the hands on video right below.
