Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Galaxy S4 Photo Gallery

We hope that you’ve already checked out our photo gallery of the Samsung Galaxy S5. We’ve also released the Benchmarks for the Exynos version of the device. Now here is a photo gallery comparing the Galaxy S5 to the Galaxy S4.

The Galaxy S5 is still an evolution on the Galaxy S4 design rather than a new design. It’s not quite as rounded but a bit more squarish like the Note 3. The S5 has only a 0.1″ bigger display but the size of the device itself is much bigger compared to the S4 thanks to the bigger bezels on the S5. We hoped it would be on par with the S4 size if not smaller considering how companies like LG have managed to fit even 5.2″ screens on smaller devices.

The similarities with the Note 3 dont end there, the glossy back found on the S4 has been replaced with a more leathery back. Similar to that on the Note 3. You don’t get the faux leather stitching, but you get a dotted pattern. The back is much less prone to fingerprints as well even on the darker colours.

One of the main additions to the S5 is the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner. It’s integrated into the home button itself. The buttons shape has become more symmetrical and is slight larger as compared to the S4 but its still easy to use. The one change is the options/menu key to the left of the home button which has now been reassigned to be the multi-tasking key on the S5.

Not much is different on the top front. You still get the same earpiece, proximity and light sensors as well as the front facing cameras.

The camera has been bumped up to 16 Megapixels on the S5 but aside from that there’s also the addition of a Heart Rate monitor right below the lens. All you have to do is launch the app and place your finger on the sensor for a few seconds and it’ll tell you how fast your heart is beating.

The microUSB 2.0 port has now been replaced with a USB 3.0 port similar to the one found on the Galaxy Note 3. But it also has a cover in order to prevent water from getting in since the S5 is a water resistant device.

The volume up/down key is still on the upper left and the lock/unlock key is on the upper right side of the device. The side bezel now has a grooved design to help improve grip.

On the top you still find the 3.5mm jack, a microphone and an IR blaster however the positions of the IR blaster and 3.5mm jack have been swapped.
