Google Glass to get Android 4.4 KitKat update with several new features

Google has announced that it is rolling out Android 4.4 update to Google Glass along with other improvements. The company is launching the update soon after last week’s announcement which will allow the US buyers to shop the Google Glass for a limited period of time on April 15th.

Regarding the new Google Glass update Google said,

Our most exciting update is subtle, but big. We’ve been working on a significant upgrade to a new version of the Glass software. It’s not a change you can see, but it brings improved battery life and makes Glass more reliable and easier to update in the future.

Google said that the Glass which will receive the update later this week, will boast of features like photo bundles, which are groups of daily photos, videos and other material. This is quite handy update as prior to this, users had to swipe through every single shot to search an old photo.

Furthermore, the latest update will enable users to reply with photos in Google Hangouts and have their voice commands organized by frequency and recent use. However, the company has also decided to remove the option to do video calls from Glass for the time being. Finally, users will be able to send feedback easily as the update gets “tell us what’s on your mind” option in the Settings.

Earlier in March, Google inked a partnership deal with eye wear giants like Ray Ban and Oakley to make the Glass more stylish.
