Google updates YouTube for Android with new features

Google seems to be hard at work in updating its Android apps as we have had leaks suggesting complete overhaul for its Gmail app and Calendar app. Google had also just launched its own Google Camera application on the Play Store yesterday and today, it has updated the YouTube application for Android.

YouTube 5.5 for Android

The YouTube application doesn’t seem to have got a major UI overhaul that is being rumored for Google’s other applications. Instead, Google seems to have packed the latest YouTube application with new features and the official new features in the latest version include the following

  • YouTube Mix automatic playlists for music videos
  • Reply to comments
  • Improved video quality for Android 4.2 and above
  • Delete your own comment
  • See if a comment was shared privately or publicly
  • Share and like playlists
  • Your liked and personal playlists appear in the left-hand guide drawer

The update has already started rolling out and you can update yourself to the latest version through the Google Play Store if you want the above mentioned features.
