With an aim to pump up its revenues further, Twitter has introduced app-install ads on its mobile platform. Dubbed as “Mobile App Promotion Suite”, new mobile app promotion suite that will allow advertisers to promote mobile app installs both on and off-Twitter.

We are excited to announce new ways for marketers and developers to drive app installs and app engagements using our new mobile app promotion suite: both on Twitter and off-Twitter through thousands of mobile apps that use MoPub’s mobile advertising exchange.

announced Twitter in an official blog post.

These ads which will be on iOS and Android devices will be powered by ad exchange company MoPub, that was acquired by Twitter last year. App promotion suite as an ad unit that combines the best of Twitter’s Cards and its Promoted Tweets ad units. The new suite is currently available to U.S. advertisers in private beta.

Advertisers can now set up campaigns on ads.twitter.com to run across the entire Twitter Publisher Network. They can buy mobile app install and app engagement ads on Twitter, as well as on the thousands of apps within MoPub’s network

Twitter said publishers would be able to use one tool to buy ads aimed at any of Twitter’s 241 million monthly users or at the roughly billion people who are using mobile apps served by its MoPub advertising exchange. The micro blogging site is way behind Facebook and Google when it comes to mobile-ad revenue. As per eMarketer, Twitter’s share of the worldwide mobile ad  market was just 2.4% last year. Facebook and Google, meanwhile, have more than two-thirds of the market.
