Motorola Moto G LTE and Ferrari variants reportedly in the works

The Motorola Moto G was introduced last year was targeted at developing countries. According to Xataka, Motorola is working on a LTE variant of the Moto G and a Moto G Ferrari Edition. Last week there were reports about Motorola Moto E, a budget variant of the Moto G launching in May.

The Moto G LTE would have similar specifications as the 3G variant and is expected to come only in 16GB variant. Since the MSM8226 chip lacks LTE support, it could use MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 chip that has LTE radios. It would come with a free flip shell in the box and is expected to be priced at 3439 Mexican Pesos (Rs. 15900 approx.) when it arrives in June.

The Moto G Ferrari Edition would come in Red color and have a Ferrari branding on the front and a logo on the back, similar to the Motorola i867 Ferrari smartphone that was unveiled back in 2012. It is also expected to come with LTE support. Other details are not available yet. The Moto G Ferrari Edition is expected to launch in the second half of the year.

The Moto G Google Play Edition was launched in the U.S. last year and the Motorola Moto G Forte with a bundled grip shell launched in Mexico recently. Motorola is also rumored to be working on Moto X+1 with 25 different back plate options, including leather.
