Lava partnered with Broadcom recently to launch the QPAD e704 tablet with a quad-core Broadcom SoC earlier this month for Rs. 9999. Broadcom has announced that it is powered by a quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 chip with HSPA+ support. It has a RF transceiver, power management IC, connectivity combo chip and multi-constellation GNSS location chip.
The BCM23550 is Broadcom’s first quad-core chip that was unveiled last year. Several manufacturers such as Xolo and Micromax started using the chip for their phones, but this might be the first tablet in India to come with the chip.
