Geeksphone Revolution receives price cut, to get Cyanogenmod 11


Geeksphone is lowering the price of its multi-OS smartphone Revolution from May 1. The Spanish smartphone maker announced the smartphone that runs on Android and Mozilla was first announced in January this year.

Geeksphone Revolution is a getting major price cut from 289 Euros to 199 Euros. The company plans to offer an updated version of Android based on Android 4.4 KitKat with CyanogenMod 11. The Revolution does not support dual booting of both OSes simultaneously. Rather the phone comes with Android pre-installed, and gives the user the option of switching to FXOS (Boot2Gecko Mozilla).

In future users will be able to run CyanogenMod 11 on the phone. It also plans to support future version of the FXOS 2.0 operating system in the form of beta. The Geeksphone Revolution features a 4.7-inch display qHD, a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom processor and comes with an 8-megapixel camera that can record videos at 1080p resolution.
