Gmail for Android updated with Save attachments to Drive, better RTL support and more


Gmail 4.8 for Android

Google has updated Gmail for Android to version 4.8 that brings some visual changes and new features. Google introduced option to attach any image automatically backup to Google+ for the web, in the new Gmail for Android update, Google has introduced option to save attachments directly to Google Drive.

Other features include Spam explanation to tell you why the mail has gone to spam, improved left-to-right language support for those using Gmail in  Arabic, Hebrew or Persian languages.

New features in Gmail 4.8 for Android

  • Save to Google Drive – Instead of downloading attachments to your device, you can now save attachments directly to Google Drive.
  • Spam explanations – Get an explanation at the top of every spam message.
  • Improved RTL support – Better left-to-right language support with profile pictures and the navigation menu on the right instead of the left.
  • Faster access to the side navigation menu – Swipe from the left edge (or right edge for RTL languages) to quickly access your accounts and labels, settings, help, and feedback

Google would start rolling out the new update for Android users in the next few days through the Play store.
