Verizon XLTE

Verizon Wireless has launched XLTE, a new LTE service for their customers in select cities that would offer twice the LTE bandwidth. This uses 1700/2100 MHz AWS spectrum, in addition to the usual 700 MHz spectrum. Verizon promises faster peak data speeds and a minimum of double the bandwidth in high traffic areas with XLTE.

XLTE-ready devices are already available with Verizon, that includes, Samsung Galaxy S4, S5 and Note 3, and the iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s and the Motorola Droid series. Most smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices that supports 1700 MHz LTE frequency works on XLTE, but it might require a software update to take advantage of the new spectrum., says Verizon. It doesn’t indicate when you using XLTE.
